Some Additional Interesting Facts
This home was carefully planned and positioned.  Long Reach makes up approximately 15 miles of the well-known St. John
River Valley.  Grey’s Mills, arguably the most scenic place in the area, is situated on the up-river, southeast bank of Long
Reach.  This place attracts and holds people from all walks of life.  It is close enough to city lights for dinner and a movie, yet far
enough away to really see the stars at night.

The area is home to well-known authors, photographers & artisans. Fifth generation farmers share the land with young
professionals and successful entrepreneurs.  Retired ambassadors and politicians serve coffee at church breakfasts to sawyers,
plumbers and lumbermen. (Some still use horses to harvest trees for the sawmill).

Inspiration can always be found on the water.  During the day, Ospreys and Bald Eagles hunt & fish along the shore.  Hundreds
of waterfowl put on amazing aerial displays in spring and fall.  A select few working fishermen ply the waterways in search of
Sturgeon or Shad or other species at different times of year.  Sailboats slip among picturesque islands.  A lazy summer setting if
ever there was one….  The next day could bring whitecaps crashing on shore and seagulls seeking shelter from a storm at sea.

After a colorful sunset you can hear fish jump while the lighthouse blinks peacefully across the river, or enjoy a bonfire on the
beach.  This place is truly paradise.

What is nearby?

Historic Kingston is about seven minutes away by car.  This small community is home to an old general store, school, churches,
and two very busy Farmers Markets.  From there, a five-minute drive and a cable ferry connect you to Quispamsis, Rothesay
and Saint John.  Or drive 15 minutes to Hampton, then Sussex, Moncton, etc.

The Saint John Airport is about 35 minutes away by car, with flights to various points in eastern Canada and U.S.A.  Halifax
Nova Scotia, Charlottetown PEI., and Boston Mass., are three to six hours away by car.

The Kingston Peninsula is surrounded by water with hundreds of miles of rivers and lakes to explore.  A one hour boat ride
takes you to the Bay of Fundy on the Atlantic Ocean.  There is excellent whale watching to be had along with other marine
adventures in St. Andrews and surrounding coastal towns.

Heading north an hour or so (by boat or car) takes you to Fredericton New Brunswick. From there it’s an eight hour drive to
Montreal Quebec, and on to Ottawa, Toronto, etc.
